This adorable little man completely stole my heart! You'll understand once you've seen the photos.  This session was full of kisses and cuddles and one very content, happy little cutie...

It was such an honour to be asked to shoot fellow photographer, Renee's, family.  You can check out her work HERE. This wonderful job of mine has introduced me to some of the most beautiful people, and Renee is one of them!

I just love my beach sessions and this is one of my favourites!  Meet my 'little' cousin Nick and his family.  After living in North Queensland, away from family for nearly 20 years, it was so lovely to be able to do this shoot and have the chance to get to know them a bit better. I grew up with my cousins and while we don't see each other that often these days, we all have a special bond which was definitely fostered by our Grandparents.  Christmas mornings at Nan and Grandads, with 13 Grandkids was always the BEST!  On top of that, my Grandparents had a holiday house in Caloundra where we could all gather and spend time together.  Some of my happiest memories!  And now, most of us have families of our own, and our kids are getting to know each other.  The bond that our Grandparents created continues with the next generation!

Oh, and I should probably mention that Aleesha is the most beautiful human (it's not all about my side of the family)!  Family really is everything and the love that Nick and Aleesha have for their kids and each other shines through in these images.  Enjoy!

Have I ever mentioned that I love Golden Hour?  That hour before and just after sunset when the light is at it's most spectacular?  Well, I do (and I'm thinking you may have guessed anyway).  It allows me to get so much variety out of a session, beautiful dreamy light, full sun soaking into your skin light and devine pink sky light.  This session was all about the dreamy light...

Hey there!  So, obviously, being a photographer, I'm all for printing your photos professionally (if you hire a professional photographer to take them that is!). This post is not about that though.  This is about the hundreds of photos you have sitting on your phone and/or computer that haven't seen the light of day for who knows how long!  I have a few years of photos sitting on my computer waiting to be printed and the stress of it all was getting to me!  How am I EVER going to get them all printed?!  When I was younger, it was easy.  Finish the roll of film, take it out of the camera and deliver it to your nearest chemist or photo shop when you do your groceries.  If you didn't do that, you simply never got to see your photos!

These days it's easier to capture memories, but SO much harder to get them printed.  For a start, if you're snap happy like me, you take WAY too many photos of the same thing.  Sorting through all of those photos seems like mission impossible so I tend to just put it in the 'to do' pile.

Can you relate?!

Well, last year, I discovered Chat Books and things got a whole lot easier!!  Chatbooks helps create albums in a few different ways. They can automatically download and print your Instagram photos into an album without you having to do a thing... OR... you can add photos to your album as you take them with the click of a button... OR... you can upload them from your computer!  I started a new series for the year just before Christmas so my albums will be ready to go once I've filled them.  I created an album series of 2017 for my family. It was a big year for us and the kids were missing Townsville terribly so I really wanted them to see what a wonderful year we've had in our new home. There are 10 albums in a series and the covers are TO-DIE-FOR!

I also created an album of photos from my 'big' camera.  I was able to add a photo of us taken by the super talented Fiona Joy Photography to the hard cover.  It looks awesome!  I used to think I needed to take more photos of my kids on my big camera, but after creating these albums, I've decided that capturing the moment is the most important thing. And let's face it... we have our phones with us all the time so it's just that much easier.

The final album I created was one of images taken by my beautiful friend Kel from Harmony Portraits in Townsville.  She came out to our gorgeous, much loved, home that my husband had built and captured memories for us that are special beyond words.  I ordered one for each of the kids and George walked around with his album under his arm for almost a week after I gave it to him!

So, while I still have years of photos sitting there waiting to be printed, 2017 is DONE! And 2018 is underway so maybe at some stage, I'll get a chance to go back and sort out printing the years I've missed.

I'd love to hear from you if you have any tips on how to ensure you print your photos every year.  Chatbooks is an American company and I haven't found an Australian equivalent.  Does anyone know of one?  If so, let me know!

Now, let's have a quick chat about professional printing.  We get professional photos of our family every year and I take photos of my kids throughout the year.  I truly believe that it is so important to have these printed by a pro lab.  I gifted my kids, husband and parents/parents-in-law beautiful prints of our family for Christmas this year from my amazing pro lab, Atkins.  The quality of their prints is second-to-none and the care they take to ensure my prints are the best they can be, well, I can't speak more highly of them.  The joy on my kids faces when they opened their gifts was priceless and I know that these prints will last us a lifetime.

I am in the process of ordering some beautiful products to show my clients and I can't wait to get them and share them with you all!!
