This newborn session is so gorgeous! It was a beautiful day on the Sunshine Coast and when I arrived I had to pick my jaw up off the ground, the house and surrounding bushland was just magic. I have photographed this family a few times now and each shoot just keeps getting better and better! Bubba was so sweet and calm, she grabbed everything her big brothers threw at her and took it all in her sleepy stride. As I do with every newborn shoot, I aimed to capture Bub as her natural self in her own surroundings. To look back and have memories come flooding in is the aim... always. Love these newborn images SO much!!
What does a newborn photo session with me look like? Well, that depends on you! I shoot most of my newborn sessions in-home. It's how I work best and it keeps my creative mojo going! No two sessions are the same. Although I put my stamp on, and my heart into, all of my sessions, it's the light in your home, your decor, the love I feel the instant I walk in, that gives your images their own unique feel. I draw so much inspiration from each family and I love the challenge of walking in to an unknown location and creating images that reflect you and the love you have for your family. Here is a little sneak peek into what a newborn session with me looks like. Yours will be unique and, well... yours!
I first met Emma at a workshop run by the amazingly talented Rachel Vanoven and Erin Tole from the USA. Emma is a seriously talented photographer herself and specialises in birth photography... a field that I absolutely LOVE. Check out her work HERE! I was so chuffed when she asked me to photograph her beautiful bump and family. Then she rocked up in the most GORGEOUS maternity dress and... the rest is history! Her sweet little man took a while to warm up to the camera (definitely the child of a photographer!) but when he did, holy smokes, did he make it worth our while. He's the most beautiful little man and was clearly excited about becoming a big brother. He gave us a detailed explanation of where bub was positioned in the tummy (Emma is also a midwife) which was super cute!!
All things pretty for this Maternity/Snuggle Session. I love, love, love it!!
It seems like a lifetime ago that we did this shoot. Especially considering Poppy is no longer an only child! She took a little bit to warm up to having the camera following her around. All it took was a drink of Milo and she was one happy little model (Milo ALWAYS makes me happy too!). In the end, the shoot turned out beautifully. I photographed them playing on the bed, making Milo's, twirling and spinning outside and having beautiful cuddles. One of the things I love about lifestyle shoots is that no two shoots are the same and you never know what special moments are going to pop up. I hope that these images bring back many memories of life before two kids (and I hope to create many more memories of life as a family of four). Enjoy!
